Looking Inward: The Art of Reflective Practice
Due to the confidential nature of dispute resolution reflective practice is an essential life skills for dispute resolution practitioners to develop.
This webinar provided an opportunity to understand how the legal tech developed by Fiona and Tim Kirkman FamilyProperty assists with family dispute resolution and legal negotiations.
Fiona Kirkman is a FDRP and family lawyer who is now after developing with her husband Tim Kirkman to specialised Legal Technology applications a Legal Tech expert.
The webinar was held on the 25th March 2019.
Legal Tech is a generic term used to describe technology that supports an enables legal and para-legal services such as mediation and family dispute resolution.
Mediation Institute students are using technology such as zoom to facilitate mediation in our practice role plays and many continue to leverage meeting technology in their professional practices. This is an example of adopting existing technology to improve accessibility, flexibly and safety of dispute resolution.
In the webinar Fiona and Tim demonstrate a dedicated Legal Tech application that they have developed which is specific for our industry.
The other software they have developed is LawSwitch which is an Artificial Intelligence enabled personal assistant.
FamilyProperty makes use of the Ai bot and technology designed to improve the process of facilitating negotiation over property after relationship breakdown.
