Which login do you need?
Your member login and your student login are different accounts, on different systems. Being a member does not sign you in to a course, and being a student does not sign you in to the members portal. Neither of them is a login for mediationinstitute.edu.au — this website has no member area, so nothing on it is behind a password.

About your membership certificate
Your certificate confirms your membership and that you have independent complaint handling in place through Mi. Mi does not email it — you download it yourself from the portal, so you can always get a current copy.
It covers all three kinds of practitioner member:
- AMDRAS Accredited Mediators — proof of accreditation held through Mi and of complaint handling cover
- Accredited FDR Practitioners — upload it to the FDR Register as evidence of complaint handling for the Attorney-General's Department
- Family Group Conference facilitators — proof of membership and complaint handling cover for the agencies you work with
Trouble logging in?
Four things account for nearly every login problem.
You have forgotten your password
Choose Forgot password on the login page and follow the prompts. The reset email goes to the address on your membership.
You are using the wrong email address
Sign in with the email address your membership is under — often a work address you no longer check. If you are not sure which one it is, contact us.
You are trying the wrong portal
Course logins do not work on the members portal, and member logins do not work on the student portal. Check you are on the right one of the two above.
Your membership may have lapsed
If your membership has expired, portal access stops. Get in touch and we will tell you where your membership stands and what it takes to reinstate it.
Common questions
Do I need a login for this website?
No. Everything on mediationinstitute.edu.au is open to read — there is no member area on the website and no password for it. The only two places you log in are the members portal at mimembers.au and, if you are studying with Mi, the student portal at mi.study247.online.
What is the Mi Members Portal?
The Mi Members Portal at mimembers.au is the members-only area for Mediation Institute members. You use it to download your membership certificate, register for CPD events, keep your CPD register, manage your Find a Mediator listing and reach member resources.
Is the student login the same as the member login?
No. They are two separate systems with separate accounts. Students studying with Mi log in at mi.study247.online. Members log in at mimembers.au. If you are both a student and a member, you will have an account on each.
How do I reset my password?
Choose Forgot password on the login page of the portal you are trying to reach. The reset link is emailed to the address held on your record. If it does not arrive, check your junk mail folder before contacting us.
Where do I get my membership certificate?
From the members portal. Log in at mimembers.au and download it yourself — Mi does not email certificates. AMDRAS Accredited Mediators, accredited FDR Practitioners and Family Group Conference facilitators all have one. If you have applied for FDR accreditation but it has not been granted yet, your certificate will say "Pending Accreditation". That is correct and expected.
I am not a member yet. Can I log in?
No — the portal is for current members. You can apply for membership first. Professional Development Membership starts as soon as you pay. Practitioner and AMDRAS Accredited Mediator applications are checked by a person before an invoice is issued, which generally takes a day or two.
Who do I contact if none of this works?
Contact Mediation Institute and tell us which portal you are trying to reach and the email address you are using. That is usually enough for us to sort it out on the first reply.
Not a member yet?
Mi members get independent complaint handling, free CPD, a directory listing and access to the Aon professional indemnity insurance discount. AMDRAS national accreditation can be held and administered by Mi.
