Yes. Members can spread the $1,150 member fee interest-free over the program — either 2 monthly payments of $575 or 3 monthly payments of $383. The first payment secures your place and the balance is paid in equal instalments. Just let us know which option suits you when you enrol and we'll set it up. (Payment plans are available to current Mi Members on the member rate.)
The program is completed within 2 months of commencement although in most cases a week or two after your workshop. That covers the two-day workshop, your case presentation, and the time afterwards to prepare and write your reflective journal.
No — the Practicum is open to any eligible AMDRAS-accredited mediator. The participant fee is $1,450. Members pay the reduced rate of $1,150 and can use the payment plan above. If you're thinking of joining, membership also gives you CPD, professional support and accreditation services through MiMembers.au.
If you want to go on to apply for your Advanced Mediator Accreditation you need evidence of at least 150 hours of professional mediation practice since first accreditation. Examples can include work history, de-identified practice logs, or other practice records. We will consider enrolment in the Practicum if you are close to that. It is not a course designed for new graduates.
Yes. AMDRAS specifies 12 hours of live engagement, delivered here as a two-day workshop (online or in person). There is no self-paced option for the live component; the reflective journal is then completed in your own time afterwards.
In-person delivery can be arranged for organisations or local groups and generally proceeds based on expressions of interest. A minimum cohort size may apply.
Successful participants receive the Practicum Certificate, with the outcome recorded as Satisfactory. This supports your eligibility to apply for Advanced Mediator accreditation under AMDRAS.
You need to be AMDRAS-accredited for at least 4 years (two renewal cycles) with evidence of 150+ hours of practice. If you're close but not quite there, talk to us. The practicum is a valuable training in its own right but most people complete it for eligibility to apply for Advanced or Leading Mediator accreditation.
Which part of the workshop did you find most engaging and why?
"Interaction with the presenters and course participants, the discussion and analysis. Darren and Peter presented the course well, they modelled excellent collaboration as co-presenters, clearly explaining concepts and responding astutely to queries. The experience and expertise as both mediators and trainers was apparent."
"I felt the facilitators provided a structured, clear and safe space to participate, encouraging active participation and respectful discussion. I also valued the diversity of cohort experiences, which broadened my understanding of dispute resolution contexts and application."
This is more than just training—it’s your pathway to recognition, respect, and advanced practice opportunities.
