Professional Development
Build confidence. Deepen capability. Advance your mediation practice with structured, practical professional development from Mediation Institute.

Professional excellence is earned through consistent learning and reflective practice. Our program honours what works, sound ethics, proven techniques, and real-world supervision, while equipping you for today’s evolving practice environments. Whether you are establishing your practice or leading teams, we provide clear pathways to grow your skills and meet your requirements with ease.
New Levels of AMDRAS Accreditation
The AMDRAS system recognises three stages of professional growth for mediators. These levels help clients and employers understand a mediator’s experience and set clear expectations for practice and ongoing professional development (CPD).
The new accreditation levels also respond to the realities of modern mediation. Many new mediators face challenges starting their practice, while others work part-time. By providing recognition at each stage, AMDRAS gives clarity to practitioners and reassurance to clients about a mediator’s level of expertise.
Research shows that people feel more confident when they know their mediator’s experience level. This transparency builds trust and supports better decision-making.
If you meet the criteria, you can enrol now in our Advanced Mediation Training to prepare for advanced practice.
Full details, including CPD requirements, are available in the AMDRAS Guidelines.
Accredited Mediator
Designed for newly accredited mediators and those consolidating foundational skills. This level provides the base from which you build a confident and ethical practice.
Advanced Mediator
For mediators with developed skills and broader practice experience. Recognition at this level reflects stronger casework capability and professional judgement gained through practice.
Leading Mediator
For highly experienced mediators who contribute to the field through leadership, supervision and mentoring. Leading Mediators are expected to support and supervise less experienced practitioners, addressing an identified need for leadership and professional stewardship in the industry.
