AMDRAS Certificate of Assessment (COA)
The Certificate of Assessment confirms that you meet the AMDRAS Practice Standards and are ready to apply for AMDRAS Accreditation as a Mediator.

Eligibility
To book the COA, you generally need to have completed an AMDRAS recognised mediator training program (COT) or an approved equivalent pathway.
- Completed AMDRAS Certificate of Training (COT), or equivalent
- Ready to demonstrate practice-level competencies
- Able to participate in a live online role play assessment

How the assessment works
Step 1: Register
Choose the COA option that suits you and complete your registration.
Step 2: Prepare
Complete the written component and review the role play requirements.
Step 3: Role play
Attend the live online role play assessment session with an assessor.
Fees
Standard Assessment – Mi graduates
For Mediation Institute Certificate of Training graduates. Includes:
- Written assessment component
- Live role play assessment with an independent assessor
- Online preparation course
- Participate as a role player or observer in Certificate of Training role plays
- Sit in on Certificate of Training sessions
Assessment support package
For candidates who trained with another provider, qualify through the AMDRAS Alternative Pathway or as an existing FDR practitioner, need a reinstatement assessment, or simply want extra support. Includes everything in the Standard Assessment:
- Written assessment component
- Live role play assessment with an independent assessor
- Online preparation course
- Participate as a role player or observer in Certificate of Training role plays
- Sit in on Certificate of Training sessions
Plus this extra support:
- A two-hour coached practice session with a Certificate of Training mentor — a 90-minute role play plus live feedback
- A one-to-one mentoring session following your practice role play
- Option to observe other candidates’ assessments to experience the full 2–2.5 hour assessment format
- Extra sessions at package rates — mentoring $190 (standard $250), coached practice $330 (standard $400)

That’s more than $1,350 of value — assessment $700, practice role play $400, mentoring $250, plus course and role play access — for $1,200.
After you pass
Once you successfully complete the COA, you are eligible to apply for AMDRAS Accreditation as a Mediator. Accreditation is managed via your provider and may include membership options.
