Mental Health First Aid

Would you know what to do if a client had an adult Mental Health Crisis?

Is it time for you to get your Mental Health First Aid Certificate?

What is Mental Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid is the help given to someone developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, before specialist mental health treatment can be obtained or the crisis resolves.

The course can also help us working with people who have a diagnosed or undiagnosed mental health issue when providing mediation services.

Why do this training?

Your questions can be contextualised to the role of a mediator by the trainer, Fred Stern who is an experienced NMAS Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

What will I learn?

You will learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults and how to provide initial help. Where and how to get professional help for people who are experiencing mental health related issues. What sort of help has been shown by research to be effective and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

This is an education course to learn how to give first aid to others and is not a therapy or support group.
