Mediation Institute is a leader in delivering innovative, high-quality training in Family Dispute Resolution (FDR), including our nationally recognised Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution (Grad. Dip. FDR) which we train in collaboration with RTO Inspiritive Pty Ltd RTO Code 21178. We are committed to fostering best practice in mediation, child informed and child inclusive practice and supporting professionals who work with families during conflict.

We are seeking an experienced Child Inclusive Practitioner to contribute to our training and student development in this area as our current practitioner is happily planning her retirement adventures.


The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Child Inclusive Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will bring both practical expertise in Child Inclusive Practice (CIP) and training / facilitation experience to help educate the next generation of Family Dispute Resolution practitioners.

This role involves:

  • Contributing to the delivery of child-focused content within the Grad. Dip. FDR program.

  • Sharing professional expertise and real-world insights into Child Inclusive Practice in mediation.

  • Supporting learners to develop skills, knowledge, and confidence in working with children and families through role play simulation.

  • Assisting with training materials and assessments to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practice.


About You

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Qualified and experienced in Child Inclusive Practice (minimum of 3 years practical experience).

  • Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner 
  • Trained as a facilitator or educator, ideally with qualifications in adult education and/or workplace training (e.g., TAE40122 or equivalent).

  • Passionate about child-centred approaches in family dispute resolution.

  • Skilled at engaging adult learners with diverse professional backgrounds.

  • A collaborative team player who values innovation and continuous improvement.

Note: If you do not have current training qualifications but have a good depth of experience as a FDRP and CIP we may be able to work with a co-assessment model.


Essential Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated expertise in Child Inclusive Practice with families in FDR contexts.

  • Current or recent practice experience (within the last 3–5 years).

  • Training/teaching qualifications (highly desirable).

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and mentoring skills.

  • Commitment to professional standards, ethics, and child-focused outcomes.
