Your Path To Becoming an
Accredited Mediator
Start or grow your mediation career with our fully online, nationally recognised qualifications. With flexible study and ongoing support, we help you succeed on your pathway to becoming an AMDRAS Mediator.
Step 1: Certificate of Training – AMDRAS Accredited
Step 2: Certificate of Assessment – Become a Qualified Mediator
Step 3: Become an AMDRAS Accredited Mediator
Take the next step with our Advanced Mediator Practicum, or explore Alternative Pathways for recognition, reinstatement, or non-practising accreditation under AMDRAS.

AMDRAS - Advanced Mediator (Practicum)
If you have been practising mediation for four or more years, the AMDRAS Practicum Certificate recognises your experience and elevates your professional standing. The pathway centres on recognition of prior learning: you present portfolio-based evidence with reflective commentary, receive mentoring and peer review, and, if required, complete optional gap training to address any remaining competencies.

AMDRAS - Alternative Pathways (Recognition, Reinstatement, Non-Practising)
AMDRAS Alternative Pathways support mediators with varied needs: Recognition assesses prior training with top-up if required; Reinstatement restores lapsed, cancelled or suspended accreditation; Leave of Absence maintains status for up to 12 months; Non-Practising Certificate maintains standing for 12 to 24 months. These options keep you supported and recognised under AMDRAS.

Supporting Every Stage of
Your Mediation Career
Recognised Accreditation Provider (RAP)
At Mediation Institute, we have always stood for mediation as a profession in its own right. Our Director, Joanne Law, has served on the Mediator Standards Board, now the AMDRAS Board, since 2023, representing practitioners and upholding high standards.
AMDRAS is now in effect
From 1 July 2025, the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) have replaced NMAS for all practitioners. Those part-way through NMAS training will continue under that system and be accrediated as an AMDRAS mediator.
