Working with families

Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution (CHC81115)

The qualification required to register  as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with the Attorney-General’s Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) under the Family Law Act 1975.  Covering Family Law, Family Violence and Family Law Mediation related topics. 

NOTE: All  CHC81115 level training is delivered through a training partnership with Inspiritive RTO 21178. 

Duration: Self-paced up to 12 months (up to 24 months to complete)
Delivery mode: Fully online.

Core Units from the Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution (CHC81115)

Those with qualifications in law, psychology, social work or similar may be able to register as a FDR Practitioner with core units only. That applies to AMDRAS Accredited mediators (you must have been accredited at least 2 years) Contact us to find out if you are eligible for the Core Units Pathway.

CHCFAM001 - Work within a Family Law Environment

This unit of competence can be undertaken individually. This online unit covers legal and ethical issues, obligations under the Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025 and the Family Law Act 1975,  documentation, and how to apply them in real-life scenarios.

Ideal as a stand-alone course or a first step toward becoming an FDR Practitioner.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Already working in a deemed family dispute resolution role in the Family Court? Have skills and applied knowledge in Family Violence or other related work? RPL lets you gain credit for your existing knowledge, skills and experience. You may be eligible to fast-track one or more units in the Graduate Diploma of FDR.

Family Group Conference Facilitator Training

Learn to facilitate family-led decision-making meetings in child protection and complex family contexts.

This online course includes self-paced online learning and 3 live half-day online workshop sessions. Recognised for the NSW FGC Contractor Panel.

National Register of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners

Check your registration status via the Attorney-General’s FDR Register.
