AMDRAS - Certificate of Training
The AMDRAS Certificate of Training is the nationally recognised course required to become an accredited mediator under the Australian Mediator Standards. Delivered 100% online, the course provides the knowledge and skills needed to start your mediation career or formalise your existing practice.
Duration: Self-paced over 6 months (recommended 6–8 weeks).
Time commitment: 45 hours – Practical | 15 hours – Theory

AMDRAS - Certificate of Assessment
After completing the Certificate of Training, the next step is the nationally recognised Certificate of Assessment. This confirms AMDRAS competency and readiness to practise. Enrol to access a supported, flexible assessment pathway to accreditation
Application: Within 6 months of COT
Time commitment: 3 hour Role Play

AMDRAS - Advanced Mediator (Practicum)
The AMDRAS Practicum Certificate suits experienced mediators pursuing Advanced accreditation. This online course builds on 4+ years’ experience and 150+ hours of practice through reflective tasks, case discussions, and feedback. A case study aligned with AMDRAS standards is required.

AMDRAS - Certificate of Training Alternative Pathway
Completed mediation training elsewhere? This pathway lets a Recognised Provider assess your past training. If it meets AMDRAS standards (with top-up training if needed), you can be issued a Certificate of Training and continue toward full accreditation.
AMDRAS - Reinstatement
If your national mediator accreditation has lapsed, been cancelled, or suspended, AMDRAS offers a clear reinstatement pathway. This resource outlines who can apply, what documents are needed, and steps to meet CPD or practice requirements. It also includes guidance for FDRPs, FGC facilitators, and those seeking accreditation for the first time.
AMDRAS - Leave of Absence/Non-Practising Certificate
Mediation Institute provides Leave of Absence (up to 12 months) and Non-Practicing Certificate (12–24 months) options under AMDRAS. These allow accredited mediators to take an extended break while maintaining their professional standing.
