Training Update: June 2021
Final FGC Workshop for 2020
Message from Joanne,
Last month I shared my cautious optimism about the end of major impacts from COVID in Australia only to find Victoria in full lock down again with hundreds of exposure sites. We hope this outbreak won’t be as bad as we fear.
Stay tuned for a slight modification in the course role play schedulers. Your mentors will be locking the role play cells once they confirm that all roles are filled. This will help prevent the issue with a minority of students who ignore role play protocols and drop out of role plays without notice.
Once your role play is confirmed you will be committed unless you contact the mentor for your role play.
We are resisting the suggestion of a recent graduate to sin bin repeat offenders for two weeks and not allow them to participate in role plays … for now. But the issue of a lack of reliability from role players and mediators can’t continue so please don’t put yourself down as the mediator or as a role player unless you are willing to make the commitment of the two hours for the role play.
The next Family Group Conference Facilitator training workshops are scheduled for July 2021. Mediation Institute provides training in Family Group Conference Facilitation

What our students say

Opportunity would be to refresh the role play scenarios but I believe that is happening. Also to update the videos of the role plays, I found these to be very helpful, maybe make them shorter Also I would have liked training on the pre mediation - and I believe that is also coming soon !!! Thanks again, you are all so dedicated and passionate and that made the whole experience enjoyable
