Salwa has dedicated her entire professional career, spanning 30 years, to the community services sector. She holds a keen focus on and significant interest in:
Counselling
Salwa is passionate about person-centred, cross-cultural approaches to counselling. She strongly believes in the individuals’ capacity for autonomy and self-determination. Her primary focus is to walk alongside clients to aid them in recognising and achieving their deepest intentions.
Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Services
Salwa has worked for over a decade to support a range of individuals and families through the counselling, case work and court advocacy process. She is an active member of the ‘Parramatta Holroyd Family & Domestic Violence Prevention Committee’ and a regular participant of local and national DFV focused initiatives, events and programs.
Leadership, Management and Teaching.
Salwa leads and manages the team at Cumberland Women’s Health Centre. She demonstrates a strong commitment to sectoral education through her role as a TAFE lecturer. In addition, she has supervised numerous Social Work, Counselling and Allied Health university placement students.
Salwa brings extensive experience and knowledge of conflict resolution and communication to the mediation process. She offers face-to-face services to those residing in the Sydney region.

The NMAS Review has been completed and now is in the implementation phase as the Mediator Standards Board works on the changes to the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) flowing from the review.
