Logan East Community Neighbourhood Association is a local community centre located in Springwood that has been working to support community needs for 28 years. They have an excellent reputation and currently offer support ranging from Emergency Relief, free counselling, an excellent and unique Life Skills Education program, a variety of social inclusion groups, playgroup, parenting group for 0-5, no-interest and low interest loans amongst other activities.

They are wanting to provide a way for Independent NMAS Accredited Mediators and FDR Practitioners to provide opportunities to give back to the community in a low cost mediation services. The goal is to work towards 2-3 face to face mediations per week on-site at a subsidised rate.

LECNA would be responsible for the administrative side of taking the referral, arranging the venue, time and confirming all parties and taking the payment as well as doing their own promotion and marketing for the program. The venue is available during the day and also after hours so if you have a day job that does not include mediation this may be an excellent opportunity to give back and keep your practice hours up.

They are seeking expressions of interest from Brisbane based Mediators to participate in this program and build their client base. They are also hoping for interest from a specific mediator who is able to take the time to train LECNA staff / volunteers to take the Mediation referrals and then manage bookings. They have had assistance to develop relevant paperwork and administrative processes ready to go and are currently working on developing a database of potential referrers to engage with.

They need the assurance that there will be Mediators available for them to connect clients with once referrals come through.
