Working for a State Government Commission
This position will see you working within a State Government commission, based in Melbourne's CBD. However under the current circumstances you will be expected to work from home, at least initially. You will be working with a well-established public sector team that is responsible for resolving disputes across varying topics including issues pertaining to product and service contracts, lease arrangements and government grants.
Your new role
You will take on an important role that focuses on resolving disputes to the satisfaction of both parties in a team that has specifically been set up to avoid issues escalating to the next phase - mediation or court. Key responsibilities include providing a high level of assistance to the commission ensuring the prevention and resolution of disputes across the relevant sectors. You will also attempt, prior to mediation, to resolve disputes where possible as you access and analyse disputes to effectively decide on the best course of action moving forward.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered you will have proven experience in dispute resolution, able to handle varying types of disputes on a daily basis and be comfortable with a high volume workload. You will also need to work from home and therefore must be a self-starter who can work unsupervised. Ideally, you will have a law degree and or a NMAS (mediation) accreditation. You will have full working rights for Australia and be able to start at short notice.
What you'll get in return
Successful candidates will begin in a temporary assignment that has the potential to be extended past the initial anticipated three month period. You will secure a competitive hourly rate of approximately $53-$60 + super.
