Dr Kudzai Kanhutu
Infectious diseases specialist Dr Kudzai Kanhutu was one of the doctors at the Royal Melbourne Hospital involved in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria last year, assisting in the development of a virtual hospital to deliver home-based care to the state’s rising tide of COVID-19 patients. In this crisis, decisions had to be negotiated and made quickly to ensure the best possible outcome for both the patient and the community, a situation Kudzai described at the time as one of controlled chaos.
