Mock Court

24 November @ 7:30 am - 11:30 am AEDT

Mock Court

Mock Court
November 24, 7:30am – 11:30am (AEDT)
Featuring Andrew Douglas | Director, FCW Lawyers

Andrew with the FCW team, will undertake a Mock Court, including lawyers, and using members of SEBN as witnesses.
The Court will be a prosecution of the Managing Director of a family-owned manufacturer – and the business itself – for Industrial Manslaughter. It will include the prosecution of an Operations Manager and Supervisor for Reckless Endangerment – all offences carrying jail time. The nature of the issues will involve contractor management, people management and psychological hazards.
The case study will flesh out:
• How the Psychological Hazard Regulations (when they come in force in 2023) will dramatically change the way we manage and engage our own and contractors’ employees.
• Explain the changes under the new Respect at Work laws dealing with the protection of women.
• Explore the treatment of a female electrical apprentice engaged by a contractor on the business’s site and actions leading to her death.
Andrew Douglas and his team from FCW will be counsel and judges and once the court is over, will explain to everyone what went wrong and why.
